lay upon the couch all day;
despite all attempts to move him,
that is where he chose to stay.
Sometimes he joined the captain,
laid his head upon his lap;
but when alarm bells sounded,
he would just resume his nap.
He enjoyed a life of ease
for his lines were few,
but if we needed a good laugh,
